Dishing Tips, Serving Hits | Charles Oliver

Dishing tips by day and serving hits by night, Charles Oliver has made a career out of doing the things he loves most. He didn’t take the a more traditional path; however, his unconventional way of thinking has certainly paid off. He currently runs a successful menswear fashion blog and serves as a fulltime DJ.

While these are two very different mediums, in Charles perspective, the two go hand and hand. And after all, who doesn’t love a DJ that not only gets any party jumping, but can also look good doing it!

Fashion

Charles has always been interested in fashion; however, his passion for fashion is currently at an all-time high. “I have always been extremely passionate about fashion and style, but nowhere near the extreme that I am now. I grew up in a small town on the south coast of the UK and its very well known for its fashion and nightlife, so I would say I have been interested from a very young age,” Charles explains.

His innate desire for style was something that came natural for him. He comes from a family where looking good is a top priority. “I was lucky to have a great upbringing and my family have all been supportive with everything I have done in my life. My family all have a passion for fashion especially my father who will always be wearing high end fashion clothing. I would say I got most of my inspiration from him. When I was younger, we always used to go to the states and hit up all the outlet stores. Most kids would be hitting the theme parks but no we would be shopping the entire time,” Charles says. And by the looks of it, those shopping escapades surely paid off!
Fast forward to just last year, Charles had a great revelation as to where he could take his fashion flare. In late 2016, he launched a fashion blog and hasn’t looked back since. “I had been following a lot of awesome pages on Instagram and felt I had similar interests. I wanted to create something that would inspire people around the world,” Charles declares.

“I always like to dress to impress. When I DJ, Im in front of big crowds so it’s good to look your best, with that I thought why not show it through photographs a well.” – Charles Oliver

Milestone

Along with great risk comes great reward. Charles is having an amazing time reaping the benefits of his choice of career. “I have had the opportunity to meet some incredible bloggers and work with some huge brands, the main one being Topman. Being British, I’ve always worn Topman, so to eventually work with them and go on to feature in their campaigns online was a huge achievement. I am a huge fan of Men in This Town magazine and online blog and a few months ago, I did a collaboration with them and Topman which in my eyes has been the most rewarding experience so far,” Charles explains.

Future

Charles is on a great path and enjoys his career. Following his passion has helped him to tap into his unleashed potential and there is surely more to come. Being a blogger, Charles is inspired by
exploration, therefore he has plans of discovering new things. “I would love to travel more and
incorporate a lot more culture into my platforms,” Charles says. Adding more knowledge about different cultures will surely expand the sculpt of his blogg and will be sure to turn the party up at his DJ’ing events!

What style/fashion accessory is your favorite?

As its winter here in Sydney my fave accessory would have to be my fisherman beanie from asos.

If you can/could consider yourself an expert in one area of style/fashion, what would it be?

I would love to create good quality, clean and great fitting t shirts.
