Martina Manolcheva is becoming an increasingly popular fashion blogger.  Her blog is where she shares her outfits, style and thoughts about fashion. “I love to experiment, try new things and then share with my readers and if my work inspires someone today that would make me really happy. I also have the amazing chance to work with many brands and online shops,” Martina says.

Start

Martina has always been into fashion. In her kindergarten years, if you were to ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up, Martina would say fashion model. “My interest in fashion probably started because my mom used to buy Vogue and other fashion magazines all the time and I was amazed by the beautiful pictures inside, I wanted to be a part of this beautiful world of fashion,” Martina exclaims.

Fast forward to October of 2011, Martina decided to launch her very own fashion blog. “I remember that I read an article about a few successful fashion bloggers in a magazine while I was on vacation in Italy during the summer and I’ve decided that I want to start my own blog too. At the beginning I wasn’t ready to launch a professional content, but with the years I developed the blog,” Martina says. And her hard work has definitely paid off!

History

Martina apparently wasn’t the first inspiring fashion icon in her family. She recalls hearing stories of her great grandfather who was also a trendsetter of his day. “From what I’ve heard it all started from my great grandfather who used to be the most fashionable person at the time in the area. My grandparents come from a small village and my great grandfather was one of the few who managed to move to France for a few years. He came back with a new wardrobe and used to wear top hat, tailcoat and a bow on a daily basis, while others were still wearing traditional clothes and galoshes. Funny, but he actually became a legend in the village, everybody remembers him for being stylish and innovative,” Martina explains.

The fashion bug also bit her mom as well. As Martina previously mentioned her mom kept a lot of Vogue and other fashion magazines around. She also became highly popular in town for her sense of style too. “I can say that these stories of my family kind of inspire me to try on new things and be whoever I want and that your clothes can definitely make a statement. Although, I have also not so good memories from the primary school when sometimes I was dressing “too fashionable” and other kids didn’t understand it and made fun of me. For example they didn’t understand my puff sleeves and colorful gaiters over jeans but that was fashionable at the time. But as I said we were kids and used to jive each other about everything. Later in high school I used to be popular with my fashionable style, so also good memories,” Martina says.

Future

Martina has plans of continuing to expand her own fashion impact in the world. She wants to continue to build her brand up. “I have an idea about creating my own product and I’m working on it, but it’s still in process. I’m also studying fashion styling as masters, which is really interesting to me and I’d also love to work as a freelance stylist,” Martina explains. In the short term future she also plans to continue her newly implemented policy. “I recently switched from posting often and everything to posting only quality stuff, “quality over quantity”. And I’d like to stick with that and improve the content even more,” Martina says. As for ten years down the line, Martina struggles with even thinking that far ahead. “Nowadays everything’s changing super-fast in the digital world and seriously I can’t even imagine what would be cool after 10 years and what would happen with our blogs, social media and so on. However, for myself I’d like to build my own brand and to continue doing what I love, get married and have many children and travel the world!”

Who do you consider the icons in the fashion and design industry?

There are many fashion icons today from celebrities to influencers. From the celebrities I consider Rihanna, Beyonce and the Kardashian-Jenner clan as trend setters. They’re innovative and work with the best stylists in the world, so that’s understandable.  From the influencers I like the style of Olivia Palermo and Chiara Ferragni again for being innovative and showing something interesting and fancy with their style. And as for designers, I think that changes with every season, but I’m mostly into Balmain, Dolce and Gabbana, Dior and Chanel.

How do you describe your personal style?

My style is constantly changing, but I’d say that it’s mostly feminine, fashionable and I also love more and more futuristic elements.

What style/fashion accessory is your favorite?

Well, I love all- shoes, bags, sunglasses, but I can say I’m mostly obsessed with designer bags.

If you can/could consider yourself an expert in one area of style/fashion, what would it be?

Finding and upgrading your personal style.

“Your style is a reflection of your inner world, when you dress think about what do you want to show to the world.”
