Wardrobe stylist and influencer Vic Sanders is all about fashion! With her exquisite taste, she has transformed many people from fashion faux pas to fashionistas and she has a lot of fun doing so. So let’s take a look at her journey and explore how she transformed her passion for fashion into a career!
“I’m Vic Sanders, a wardrobe stylist, costume designer, natural hair enthusiast, and style blogger…Welcome to my world!!!!” -Vic Sanders
Vic has always had an interest in fashion, but she never imagined that this would be the career path for her. “I was always interested in fashion, but it wasn’t until my senior year of college that I realized this could be a viable career. So I dropped out of college my senior year and drove from Alabama to LA to be an unpaid intern for a celebrity stylist,” Vic says. Talk about taking a risk! But the risk was well worth the reward behind it. Vic now has a successful career doing what she loved most.
“The first venture of my own was creating style for Big Sean’s “Ass” video. I then went of to style people for the BET Awards!” -Vic Sanders
As I mentioned earlier, Vic has exquisite taste when it comes to style. Here’s what she had to say when I asked her how would she describe her style. “My style is very eclectic. I love colors and prints. I love jewelry and accessories. One day I might be in sneakers, the next day I am in heels. It really just various on my mood, but whatever it is, I like to be vibrant,” Vic exclaims!
While Vic inspires many people, she has to get her inspiration from somewhere. One of the biggest contributions to her inspiration is her grandmother. “My grandmother was a designer. She has four closets so I definitely get my sense of style from her,” Vic says glowingly. However some other influences on her style include fashion icons like Bianca Jagger, Solange Tracee Ellis Ross and Diane Bunker.
She took the risk now she has the reward! Chasing her dreams, Vic has accomplished alot but the biggest reward of all has been the impact she has had on others! “My biggest reward has been inspiring others. That is the whole reason why I do what I do. My purpose is to inspire women, particularly women of color, to live their best lives. And when I receive an email or dm or someone comes up to me and says that I have inspired them, that is the biggest reward. Better than any money I can get,” Vic says.
“ I had a women with stage four cancer reach out to me and tell me that when she was sick and could not get out of bed, all she would do is read my blog and it inspired her to do more and live more. There’s no greater accomplishment than hearing stories like that for me.” -Vic Sanders
